Why you need to invest in yoga and meditation in the workplace with Krista:

Huge savings on Health care costs.

Successful companies understand that healthy employees cost them less. Although health care costs keep escalating, smart companies providing wellness programs save two to three times their investment! Statistics show that anxiety, stress and depression statistics are on the riseThe proven combination of yoga and meditation with Guru Nation Yoga Consulting provides you with an easy, cost-effective, and powerful tool to get the most out of a small investment in wellness.  Overwhelming evidence points to yoga and meditation to promote health benefits that also benefit the bottom line.

Increased Productivity.

Research consistently shows that the costs to employers from health-related lost productivity are even more costly than health insurance. The National Institute of Mental Health estimates that U.S. employers lose $70 billion a year due to absenteeism, lost productivity and disability caused by mental distress!* Yoga helps moderate reactions to and perceptions of stress, as well as significantly lifting depression. When employees go back to work after yoga, they’re in a position to make better decisions. Mental clarity, focus and concentration, stamina, increased energy and enhanced emotional well-being are proven effects of yoga and also lead to increased productivity.  Yoga bumps up levels of the neurotransmitter GABA which both lifts mood and suppresses anxiety according to a 2007 study on brain GABA levels and yoga.

Relief of pain and strain

Employees perform better when they’re fit for duty and not in pain.  No matter what your job, the repetitive nature of any prolonged activity can create strain which leads to under performance.  Yoga provides repetitive-stress-injury prevention and a good corporate yoga class also addresses chronically strained areas of the body and pain relief.  Practicing gentle postures and meditation reduces back and neck pain or more serious conditions including arthritis or multiple sclerosis.

More bang for your buck

Yoga is effective, holistic, and easy to implement without a significant outlay of resources.   Yoga is a holistic approach to physical and mental health, well-being and personal growth Offering even one yoga session in a week brings about noted changes in employee behavior by helping them manage stress better, enhance clarity and creative thinking, improve communication skills, cultivate leadership and teamwork, and increase overall effectiveness in the workplace.

Ease of Implementation

Yoga meets people where they are and requires no fitness level or special skills.  All a company needs are a space to spread some mats and a bunch of willing participants with a strong desire for a healthier, more fulfilled life.  Yoga in the work place makes it easy for employees to make a healthy choice that also eliminates travel times to and from a yoga studio. A yoga program can be conducted just about anywhere such as a conference room or an empty lunchroom.

Why Krista should lead your workplace yoga practice:

Professional:

Founder of Guru Nation Yoga Consulting, Krista Percival knows the corporate work environment first-hand.  Krista’s first career was working as an attorney in both the government and private sector.  More recently, Krista founded her own award-winning residential landscape design business and ran it successfully for fifteen years with employees of her own.  As an attorney, Krista understands the professional work environment and how employment and health information regulations impact the content of yoga classes in workplace environments.  Krista knows how to keep things professional, avoid discrimination issues, and understands how to integrate inspiration without conveying religious bias.

Experienced Krista began her yoga practice a decade ago to address her own health concerns and to lower work-related stress and strain.  She has experienced the effects on the body of stress, long hours of sitting and the pressures of deadlines, clients, and business goals.  More importantly, she has experienced first-hand the healing effects of yoga in her own body. She has dedicated her life to sharing these benefits with others.

Relatable: Sometimes a discipline from another culture like yoga can sound exotic and even esoteric.  Krista knows how to communicate the concepts clearly without making people uncomfortable with awkward jargon.  Every class presented will be easy to understand, simple and comfortable. Krista’s clear communication skills and accessible postures allow her students the freedom to feel into the body and still the restless mind.

Personable and Engaging.   Krista understands that health-related services are, by nature, personal and that a good personal experience requires excellence and personalized attention.   Krista meets people of varied abilities where they are at on their yogic path so that each person receives something useful regardless of their fitness level or experience with yoga and meditation.   Her offerings accommodate seniors, the unwell and even the super fit as well as everyone in between.  Krista provides a nurturing, noncompetitive environment in the classes and tries to keep things light, fluid and fun!

Prepared:  Krista will bring her own props as necessary.  All that would be required are comfortable clothes, a space to practice, and a mat.
