Krista's love for yoga snuck up on her slowly as she began to feel the power of the practice in her life. With no ability to understand the needs of her mind to rest and relax, she used to be the student who just wanted to get moving at the beginning of the class! Needless to say, Krista first found the physically challenging postures and the refreshing mental perspective unlike anything she had ever experienced.
Decades of fun high impact sports left her with several serious injuries, osteoarthritis in her knee, and a tight, imbalanced body. As Krista's sporting life started to wane, this space was filled with a steady and increasingly diverse yoga practice. This healing practice awakened her to all aspects of yoga and has led to reduced pain, fewer obstacles, and increased ease and skillfulness in her life. Krista hopes these improvements will also benefit the lives of her students, her family and her community.
Krista is professionally trained in the Vinyasa flow style with the maximum amount of education one can receive under the educational designation through Yoga Alliance (Experienced, Registered Yoga Teacher with well over 500 hours in formal training. E-RYT-500) and continues now to study yoga philosophy, Tantra and teaching as a life-long student.
Krista is committed to sharing the love and healing one can enjoy on the path of yoga. She volunteers as the Co-coordinator of the Mindful Movement Program for the Solana Vista and Skyline Schools in Solana Beach, teaches yoga in her kids class and holds donation only classes throughout the year that support the San Diego Planned Parenthood.
